How responsible is our living space to help us gain/drain our energy at the mental & physical level?

With the help of Vedic vastu shastra which is the study of directions, sub-directions, radio frequency, electromagnetic energy of the earth which affects the human mind, body, eventually the home and finally our soul. This is a study related to a calculative art based on the planning of the floor plan of the house with respective directions to create a harmonious and positive flow of energy in the house. As our physical body is the home for our soul to complete its journey on the planet earth similarly our home is the place where we spend our life time for absolute travel time here. Our homes energy adds to our energy patterns in combination to the direction we sleep in our homes at night to help us gain or drain our energy.


When we sleep in our bed at night, the direction we sleep acts as a charging point for us at mental, physical and etheric levels. We get energy from the mother earth when we lie parallel to it, which means we gain energy when we sleep in the beds in our bedroom at night. A sound sleep makes us feel fresh the next morning feeling charged, rejuvenated and active. When all the directions are balanced, and homes is filled with natural flow of energy it creates a harmonious pattern of energy which aids in our entire wellness. Imagine if we keep turning and tossing through the night as a result the next day, we feel lethargic, tired and want to go back to bed. But we have work to do so we are out of bed back to our schedule ignoring our body signals, we keep doing what we must. When this becomes a frequent pattern of our lifestyle over a period of time one day the body gives up and we fall sick and might sort to medical help or have other issues in career or finances, still ignoring the space where we spent quite a lot of time. I understand the home cannot be the only reason to our issues in life but with positive affirmations, organized pattern and balanced floor plan we can overcome these related problems quite often. I don’t blame you for this because we don’t know the importance of the energy in the house that affects us at different levels. If a positive thought can make our day, a positive home will add to our wellness as well. It’s a pattern of belief combined with an ancient science called vedic vastushastra the science of building homes and temples during ancient times in India, which might not belong to proven sciences so far but it has definitely impacted lives of a lot of people who have been studying this and practicing on this worldwide and have benefited from it. All the theories in the world is useless until you know how to use it and apply it and make a change in your life. I love to choose a practical solution to make a change and get its benefits. Understanding the floor plan and taking it to the next step to balance it to create a complete wellness for us at all levels for us.


Quick checklist to check if your energy is intact or getting drained.

  1. Sleeping with head towards North direction drains our energy levels instead of getting a sound sleep. Our head in our body acts as North, we know that like poles repel each other so when we sleep with our head towards North it repels the energy creating a stress in the sleep pattern which amounts to draining us from being active and alert.

  2. Best direction is to keep the bed is towards the South direction for a sound sleep pattern promoting relaxation during rest for adults.

  3. Placing the bed towards the East direction is generally suggested for students of all ages for better growth and skills.

  4. Avoid sleeping over a box bed or a bed with storage under it because it creates stressed energy while sleeping over storage beds.

  5. Enhance the room with the colors of the directions or keep it neutral to gain best results.

  6. Add crystals to your room to enhance the energy of the room. If you have no idea about the crystals add spa salt to your room, it clears the blocked energy.

  7. Cleanse the energy with natural herbs such as sage to purify the rooms.

  8. Avoid shoes inside the house it should be kept in the shoe cabinets. When we wear shoes inside the house, we carry germs, dust particle and unseen negative elements attached to it inside the house wherever we walk with them around the house. So, it is better suggested to keep them in the shoe closet.

  9. Water elements, electronics, mirrors in front of the bed drains our energy while sleeping in the bedroom.

  10. Unorganized closet creates unnecessary delays in taking timely decisions keeping our minds unclear.

  11. Beds should be organized and made once you are out of bed in the morning.

  12. Organized homes, clutter free space, positive affirmations, beautiful pictures, warmth of love, charms of peace and good luck makes a home filled with vibrant energy.
